Now that you’ve learned more about neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) and want to get more involved, what can you do? Here are some simple ideas to help spread awareness and raise funds so that we can see the end of seven diseases by 2020.
Step 1: Organize
Reach out to people at your school, community service organization, sports team, religious group, workplace, book club, Greek organization or any other group and ask them if they’d be interested in sponsoring a seminar or fundraiser to increase awareness and contribute to our cause.
Or, start your own group of people interested in spreading the word about neglected tropical diseases. Invite them to join you via email, Facebook, Twitter or even with a simple phone call.
Once you’ve got a core group of folks together…
Step 2: Act
There are an unlimited number of ways to spread the word and raise funds to help with our goal of ending seven diseases by 2020.
We’ve put together a few examples, but feel free to be creative and come up with your own ideas of how to spread the word and fundraise! Here's some images for you to use as you spread the world about END7.

You can also send the link around via email with a note encouraging your peers to get involved.
If you hosted a fundraiser, you can send your donation to us the following ways:
- Use our online donation page.
- Send us a check.
Please note that it is important that you and your colleagues note your group name on the check or on the online donation page (the “In Honor of” field) so that we can help track your collective contributions.
Step 3: Promote
You’ve organized a core group of supporters and you’ve determined a method of raising awareness and funds. Get the word about your event in advance and keep telling your community afterwards to make sure your hard work has the greatest impact possible.
Promoting your work to end seven diseases is easy. Here are a few tips:
Spread the Word via Social Media
Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and other social networks offer an easy way to reach people you know and others who might be interested in helping to end seven diseases. Create your own Facebook page or Twitter or YouTube account and get ideas for how to use it by visiting our social media content bank! Encourage your supporters to visit your pages and start conversations about ending seven NTDs by 2020.
Contact Your Local Media
Reach out to the editors and producers of your local or school newspaper, radio and TV shows and give them the details of your event. Ask them if you can write an opinion or letter about why people should join you in helping to end seven diseases.
Report back to us on the progress of your work. Share information or photos with us and we’ll be sure to share it with the rest of our community of supporters. You can get in touch with us directly via Facebook, Twitter, or by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org!
